Southwest Airlines Announces Major Leadership Changes

Executive Leadership and organizational alignment changes at Southwest Airlines began on December 1.

Southwest's strategic priorities were strengthened by executive moves. First, Justin Jones became Executive Vice President of Operations, reporting to Andrew Watterson. Jones leads the Teams coordinating modernization and airline operations.

Tony Roach was elevated to Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer under Ryan Green, who now reports to Watterson. Roach will manage the Whole Customer Experience. 

Elizabeth Bryant and Whitney Eichinger will become Senior Vice Presidents and Chief People and Communications Officers, respectively, .

CAO Linda Rutherford will supervise Bryant and Eichinger. 

A new entity outlining infrastructure and governance to harness the power of data and artificial intelligence and the Company's Data Privacy Office will be led by Angela Marano on Rutherford's Executive Leadership Team.

The carrier also said Executive Vice President and Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer Mark Shaw appointed Jason Van Eaton Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer.
